General Summary of Position
The Assistant Vice President of Perioperative Services will provide leadership and direction for the administrative and clinical
operations of departments within the Perioperative service line, including but not limited to the OR, PACU, Endoscopy Suite, and
Interventional Radiology. Exhibits strong business acumen and is
responsible for effectively and efficiently using available human, fiscal, and clinical resources to maintain high standards of
patient-focused care. Coordinates and manages strategic business planning and program development for Perioperative services
at MWHC. Works closely and collaboratively with the executive team, providers, nurse leaders, and others, as appropriate and
necessary, to advance the strategic and operational interests of MedStar Health and MedStar Washington Hospital Center. Is
responsible for fiscal and operational performance, both directly and through subordinate administrative personnel. Builds
relationships and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to achieve organizational goals. Promotes a culture consistent with the
MWHC mission, vision, and values. Reports to the Senior Vice President of Nursing & Chief Nursing Officer, MWHC, and
assumes administrative responsibilities in their absence.

Minimum Qualifications
Education

  • BSN, MSN, from an accredited School of Nursing required.
  • Licenses and Certifications

    • Active DC RN License and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required.
