Job description

A banquet houseperson is responsible for the manually set up/break down and service of all tables, chairs, dance floors along with all other necessary items in meeting rooms. This role requires the ability to lift and move heavy items.

Essential Functions

Set up all meeting rooms to the specifications of the guest. This includes considerable physical activity while transporting awkward and heavy materials such as staging, tables, chairs, dance floors, etc., from storage area to meeting rooms.

Supply and replenish meeting rooms as instructed with appropriate meeting necessities

Break down all meeting rooms after events conclude and return all items to proper storage areas.

Perform other duties as requested, such as cleaning, or special guest requests.

Necessary Skills and Attributes

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Ø Knowledge of various types of equipment and set up styles used in the meeting rooms. For example: different table types (round, schoolroom, etc.).

Ø Ability to lift and move multiple tables and chairs along with other items up to and estimated at 80 – 100 lbs.

Ø This position requires considerable physical activity on a continuous basis throughout the shift for room set up and break down.

Ø Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise move or push goods on a hand cart/truck with considerable weight.

Formal Education

• Ability to speak, read, and write English

Experience

• Preferably experience working in a banquet, convention center and or hotel environment that requires professional interactions.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $15.50 per hour
