Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a part-time hourly Business Consultant for The Rutgers Brain Health Institute (BHI) – Center for Autism Research, Education and Services (RUCARES) facility in Somerset. This position provides a variety of business services including budget and financial planning, consults with faculty and staff, provides human resource and administrative expertise, procurement, accounting, and grant administration. The Business Consultant would be responsible to prepare, submit and track CSH to RU and RU to CSH invoices, payments, and financial reports, Develop routine (Monthly, Quarterly, Annually, etc.) detailed budgets for RUCARES and funding agencies within organization/sponsor guidelines for submission. Advocate and educate executives of RUCARES business needs (systems, tools, materials, etc.), and secure such needs when possible. Submit NIH and other grant proposals to varied federal, state, and foundation sponsors.

- Analyze, track and facilitate the exchange of funds flows with Children’s Specialized Hospital (CSH) via purchase orders & invoices.
- Collaborate with CSH Finance and Purchasing departments, Rutgers BHI, and RUCARES personnel to improve daily business operations. Analyze faculty and staff efforts to payroll for ECRT verification.
- Recommends specific solutions for business operations. Devise implementation and control procedures which will ensure that RUCARES services are delivered in an efficient and effective manner.
- Account reconciliation; Develop, maintain and submit budget plans.
- Assist faculty and staff in the submission of grant proposals. Advise faculty of discrepancies, vital information pertaining to grant submissions, daily operations, and unforeseen budget issues.
- Prepare, review and approve daily expenses & travel reimbursements.

Minimum Education and Experience
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field; the education requirement can be substituted with equivalent experience.
- Requires two (2) years of relevant experience that demonstrates comprehensive knowledge and understanding of general accounting principles and practices.
