Description:The Aircrew Business Development Manager is responsible for developing strategy, coordinating plans and taking actions necessary to sell the GENTEX Aircrew Products full portfolio with an emphasis, strategic thrust and focus on the US Air Force Aircrew Segment to achieve annual sales goals. Responsible for maintaining the existing customer base and creating new business for the organization. Provides periodic reports and forecasts to management, and maintains opportunities in Customer Resource Management (CRM) tool. Acts as the Champion for the US Air Force with focus on Aircrew and Aircraft Maintainers Hearing & Communications, Helmet Platforms, Eye & Face Protection, and Respiratory & CBRN Products.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Effectively promotes GENTEX full Aircrew portfolio to the US Air Force.

  • Leads business development activities and customer relationship management of the US Air Force customer within the Aircrew Systems Business
  • Maintains appropriate contacts with new and existing US Air Force customers
  • Research, establish, shape and sustain positive key decision-maker and decision-influencer relationships.
  • Development and management of 5Q sales forecast and 5-year business development pipeline (CRM) US Air Force products and programs.
  • Responsible for providing Voice of the Customer (VOC) input to product management process, in addition to new product and market development.
  • Maintain Competitive Analysis process to provide competitive business intelligence.
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment, across multiple value-streams, teams, and international borders.
  • Travels to customer sites to visit regular and prospective customers to provide product demonstrations and presentations.
  • Prepares summary report(s) of business meetings.
  • Works with inside support staff to keep account activities and support issues up to date.
  • Troubleshoots and investigates problems with short-term and long-term projects.
  • Attends scheduled trade shows throughout the year.

EDUCATION AND/OR PROFESSIONAL LICENSE(s):*
Requires a Bachelors degree with preference for experience in a technical or business field or equivalent job experience. An understanding of military aircraft operational environment will complement the position.
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of five years business development experience. Technical knowledge of Aircrew Flight Equipment products with an OEM is preferred. Ability to produce results with minimal guidance. Familiarity with US Air Force Program Office and Air Force Lab Office desired. Experience working and interfacing with Government, Military, and/or Civil personnel preferred. A military and/or aviation background is desirable.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Develop new business and new business opportunities accordingly
  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
  • Communicate effectively and demonstrate solid sales abilities in all facets of sales and marketing
  • Effective communication and presentation skills when interfacing with customers, both internal and external.
  • Maintain department management practices to include CRM tracking, reporting and forecasting.
  • Define annual objectives and consistently obtain them.
  • Working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint, Outlook and CRM tool(s).
