We are currently recruiting for the position of:

BUYER, DRY REPLENISHMENT - Modesto, CA

The Replenishment Buyer maintains appropriate service levels on assigned categories, while balancing services level requirements with inventory management objectives. Buyers are responsible for Roseville, and/or Yosemite warehouses. Departments for replenishment can include; Grocery, liquor, Dairy/Deli, and/or GM/HBC items. Buyers work closely with banner teams, supply chain partners, and various support departments in order to effectively manage inventory for the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Evaluate vendor quote and services to determine most desirable pricing
  • Manage and support promotional, excess and non-movement inventory levels
  • Maintain optimal product freshness and fill rate
  • Purchase and negotiate with suppliers
  • Manage the cost/deal cost variances to ensure terms and cost accuracy
  • Reconcile purchase orders and invoices
  • Create and track purchase orders and deals with delivery and stock issues
  • Maintain inventory tracking reports and service exceptions
  • Management of the Product Life-Cycle
  • Work under general supervision with certain degree of creativity and latitude
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • Knowledge of supply chain functions, policies and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Experienced in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Advanced analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and respond timely to urgent matters
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong fact-finding skills
  • Excellent organizational skills

Education: Two-year college degree (or equivalent knowledge gained through formal education, specialized training, and/or additional job experience)

Experience: Three years directly related experience

Other: Maintain timely and regular attendance.

Physical: Basic office and store environment: ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, stoop, use stairs, reach, pull and lift objects
