Teamworks Acton is seeking an energetic, creative, self-starter to serve as our Camp and Youth Program Director. This position is responsible for developing, organizing and executing Summer Camp, School Vacation Programs, and all Youth Programs. Teamworks’ mission is to provide a safe environment where kids can have FUN, create friendships, build self-esteem, and develop as individuals through sports and being active.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

Core Duties include being responsible for the day-to-day operations of Summer Camp and Youth Programming including marketing, customer service, staffing and organizing.

This position focuses on:

Programming

  • Design and evaluate camp programs and youth programs that meet the needs and interests of local families
  • Plan daily camp schedule and programming activities
  • Plan and develop youth programs during the school year
  • Lead future development of School Vacation Programs, Summer Camps, and Youth Programs

Marketing

  • Collaborate with marketing team and execute sales for camps
  • Coordinate publicity, open houses and promotion of the programs

Customer Service

  • Manage parent expectations by knowing your campers and conversing with parents at pick-up and drop-off times during summer camp
  • Handle parent concerns, contacting parents when appropriate, and serve as a point of contact person for all youth programs and problems counselors encounter in caring for campers

Staffing

  • Oversee staff hiring procedures, interviews and training
  • Assign counselors in camp to specific tasks and manage their performance
  • Assign coaches to specific youth programs and manage their performance

Organizing

  • Facilitate planning of special activities and ordering of necessary supplies.
  • Develop and monitor the budget and day-to-day expenses.
  • Ensure that the camp meets and complies with local and state standards, licenses, and permits.

Other responsibilities may include:

  • Participate in the building operations of Sport Leagues, Tournaments, and Rentals
  • Provide quality customer service via phone, email and in person for other Teamworks Programs
  • Communicate with customers regarding procedures, policies and future programming
  • Manager on Duty for one weekend shift during the winter months
  • Coach 6-8 hours of programming during the school year

Candidates should meet the following qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Show motivation and initiative whether working independently or collaboratively.
  • Excitement about joining a fun and highly-collaborative working environment.
  • Strong listening and communication skills.
  • Learn a great deal of new information quickly.
  • Problem solve accurately, creatively and efficiently.
  • Multitask with frequent interruptions in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
  • Resolve inquiries and respond with empathy to concerns from customers.
  • Prior camp experience, education in child development or teaching is preferred.

Compensation is competitive; other incentives are possible based upon program growth.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
