Description
Title: IT Security Analyst
Duration: 6 months with the potential to extend
- Group Policy Administration
- Server Build Configuration
- Experience with aligning Server build with CIS Server Benchmarks.
- Advanced experience with Group Policy Administration
- Advanced experience with Server Build Configuration (Windows Primary)
- Some project management skills, with Ability to work with IT System Engineers to coordinate and document requirements.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office 365 tools such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Working knowledge of Cloud Computing (Azure Cloud a plus).
- Ability to work without direct supervision but provide regular progress reports to director demonstrating consistent progress.
Essential Functions:
- Model ethical behavior and execute job responsibilities in accordance with Citizen’s core values, ethics, and information protection policies.
- Validate access control assignments for systems and processes.
- Participate in the detection, reporting and containment of information security violations on applications, databases, networks, systems, and Active Directory including participation with corrective procedures and restoration of services.
- Review, monitor, and analyze security compliance on accounts, applications, databases, networks, systems, Active Directory and participate in comprehensive log analysis.
- Participate in the audit compliance reporting of Information Security policies and report findings/status.
- Compile data in support of external and internal audit efforts.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, patch validations, and security risk assessments.
- Create, maintain, and validate documentation for security processes, incident reporting and security awareness.
- Implement security controls, security systems and security configurations.
- Implement changes to procedure, policies, and systems to enhance system security.
- Support security projects and security components in other IT projects and operational tasks, such as audit response and metrics reporting compilation.
- Communicate security policies, processes, and procedures to users.
- Create and maintain documentation.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interfacing with department and corporate customers.
- Intermediate level knowledge of Information Security services involving networks, firewalls, Active Directory, and general Information Security principles.
- Intermediate level knowledge of information security theory and practices.
- Intermediate level knowledge of application, systems, network security administration.
- Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Desktop and Server Operating Systems.
- Intermediate level knowledge of Incident Response Technologies.
- Knowledge of and the ability to stay abreast of current security related laws, trends, and emerging technologies
- Strong conceptual thinking and communication skills — the ability to conceptualize complex business and technical requirements into comprehensible models and templates
- Team-oriented with the ability to interface effectively with a broad range of people and roles, including vendors and IT and business personnel
- Ability to think, communicate and write at various levels of abstraction
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
- Time management skills, ability to work on multiple projects.
Required Education:
- Associate degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology or related field OR 2 years of relevant experience OR a combination of college education and relevant work experience equivalent to 2 years.
AND
- 2 or more years of IT experience including1 or more years of experience in information security in one or more of the following domains: access control; computer operations security; security architecture and models; or application and system development security; or other related area.
OR
- 1 or more years of end-user/customer support of IT systems/networks/devices.
- Current CompTIA’s Security+ certification
- Current certification or certification within the first year of position start date in one of the following:
o MCITP (Server Administrator)/MCSA
o CCNA
o CCSA and/or CCSE
