JOB SUMMARY
As an important member of our multi-disciplinary team, provides assessments, individual, group and family counseling and psychotherapy and other treatment modalities within a trauma informed and evidence-based framework with clients who have behavioral health and substance abuse disorders. Demonstrates strong clinical judgment in assessment, application of diagnostic criteria, clinical formulations, and sound triage decisions. Provides counseling/ therapy with clients requiring complex intervention, including those who are homicidal, suicidal or exhibit life-threatening behaviors; determines necessity for involuntary commitment and arranging for admission. Completes assessments, manages a caseload, completes treatment plans, and obtains authorization for services. Provides oversight and clinical accountability to outpatient mental health center as delegated by the Director. Assists in management of the site and outcomes monitoring, as delegated by the Director.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical
- Assists program leadership in promoting best practices and provides highest level of service to clients
- Assures appropriate clinical programming utilizing evidence-based interventions
- Provides direct clinical services
- Provides high quality documentation and adherence to agency guidelines
- Maintains ethical standards
- Enhances development of staff by providing clinical supervision
- Supports clinical leadership to promote best practices
- Seeks clinical supervision from Center Director
- Promotes collaborative internal and external relationships
- Actively support strategic agency goals
- Develops potential leaders to support substantive contribution and leadership succession
- Demonstrates clinical and professional leadership presence consistently
- Actively participates in organizational initiatives
- Provides agency representation in the community to enhance collaborations and to promote services at DeKalb CSB.
- Assists in managing program personnel with appropriate collaboration with the Center Director
- Demonstrates data driven decision capabilities in consultation with the Center Director, including reviewing outcomes in daily operations and long-term planning
- Assists in ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements
- Role models excellent customer service to both internal and external customers
- Assists in maintaining environmental safety and therapeutic milieu for staff and clients
Required Qualifications:
- Current Georgia licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
- Three years’ experience working with behavioral health disorders.
- Computer proficient and ability to multi-task.
- Demonstrates competency in using evidenced based treatments for behavioral health disorders.
- Able to communicate effectively with co-workers, internal and external customers and the public.
- Ability to interact and communicate with clients and their families effectively.
- Outpatient mental health clinic office setting – Monday –Friday 8:15am-5:00pm with some evening and weekend hours (as determined by clinic needs).
- Ability to use a computer, telephone, fax, copy and scanning machine.
- Ability to handle self well under stressful situations.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative, flexibility, and professionalism.
- Ability to communicate well with others.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to work within a recovery oriented, client centered, and trauma informed environment.
- Ability to work with co-occurring disorders.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with diverse populations.
