About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Commercial Banking Portfolio Associate

In this role, you will:
  • Focus on managing a complex credit portfolio of middle market account relationships within the Middle Market Banking Office
  • Assist with financial modeling and projections, credit analysis, and industry or business risk analysis, in support of loan structuring decision making activities for mid-sized companies, large corporations, and real estate developers
  • Support senior staff in credit underwriting which accounts for all risk factors and providing risk rating recommendations
  • General responsibilities include working with senior management, relationship managers and credit to originate, monitor and grow middle market relationships
  • Specifically accountable for credit underwriting and origination, portfolio monitoring, renewals and annual reviews, coordination of pricing, and for revenue growth, and relationship profitability
  • Manages and promotes the maintenance of a portfolio that adheres to all applicable credit policies and compliance requirements
  • Works with clients directly to understand credit needs and represents the bank in developing and maintaining client relationships
  • Collaborate and consult with functional colleagues, internal partners, and stakeholders including internal as well as external customers
  • May review and negotiate loan documentation with internal and external counsel, and clients / prospects.

Required Qualifications:
  • 6+ months of Commercial Banking Portfolio Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • Knowledge and understanding of rates, credit terms, loan structures, and collateral requirements
  • Underwriting experience including advanced commercial or specialty group relationship portfolio credit, including both commercial & industrial and investor real estate opportunities
  • Knowledge and understanding of commercial and specialty group banking products and services
  • Knowledge and understanding of credit policy, loan servicing, risk management, and group underwriting requirements
  • Experience with financial modeling, including understanding key cash flow drivers and impacts on projected financial performance
  • Ability to present to decision makers and customers in a professional and confident manner
  • Ability to perform in depth commercial financial statement analysis
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Job Expectations:
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time
