Job description
UVA Community Health Foundation provides philanthropic support for UVA Health’s primary and secondary care facilities, staff, and medical care teams serving communities across the Greater Prince William, Culpeper and Warrenton region, including three medical centers (Culpeper, Haymarket and Prince William), a Cancer Care location in Gainesville, and several medical group clinic locations.
The Project Associate will be responsible for supporting UVACH’s development program objectives through project management in the areas of annual fund coordination, prospect research, board development, and event support across the UVACH region. This position reports to the Executive Director for UVA Community Health Foundation.
Coordinate UVACHF Annual Fund and Employee Giving Activities – 45%
- Serve as point person for the UVA Community Health team for annual fund-related programs and inquiries
- Working alongside the Executive Director, strategize, coordinate and track participation of UVA Community Health annual employee giving campaign
- In partnership with UVA Health Development Donor Relations, determine and execute acknowledgement and stewardship strategy for all annual fund level donors
- Seek out new individual, foundation or business partnerships to host and sponsor events, and foster small giving campaigns
- Ensure online giving pages are current and active
Program, Campaign and Community Event Support – 30%
- Serve as liaison to UVA Health Development communications team defining needs, and providing patient and family story ideas for publications and the website.
- Assist with developing campaign materials and drafting proposals, as requested
- Facilitate In-kind donation requests
- Support Director of Development on the coordination and implementation of stewardship and cultivation events
- Serve as the point of contact for questions/inquiries related to third party events that benefit UVA Community Health
- Assist with execution of annual Friend of the Foundation golf event, and other events as needed
Prospect Management – 25%
- Serve as UVACH lead for Advance, EverTrue, Tableau, and GPP platforms using these tools for prospect tracking, qualification, reporting, and researching gift details.
- Through research, identify major gift/planned gift prospects for Director of Development
- Assist with researching local foundations and non-profits whose missions align with UVA Community Health. Assist with developing proposals as requested.
- Manage prospect research requests
- Maintain lists and provide reports
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of the fundamental principles of fundraising and event planning
- Working knowledge of CRMs
- Ability to work independently, be a self-starter, manage multiple projects
simultaneously, set and manage priorities, and meet deadlines
- Ability to work cross departmentally and collaboratively to complete projects
- Demonstrated excellence in organizational and written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated excellence in working successfully with a wide range of constituents
- Excellent computer software skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Starting Salary Range: $55,000-$63,000

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Bachelor's degree Experience: Two years of experience. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Licensure: None. PHYSICAL DEMANDS This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
