As our Compliance Engineering Manager, you'll build a compliance team and program to ensure successful safety and regulatory testing for Atom Power's intelligent energy delivery products. We are looking for a dynamic leader with hands-on compliance experience with complex products to take our compliance program to a new level.
What you will do:
- Lead the global product safety and regulatory compliance activity for Atom Power
- Engage directly with regulatory agencies and labs to drive engagement, alignment, and collaboration for all compliance initiatives, serving as the primary point of contact
- Become a subject matter expert on the safety and regulatory standards that impact our products, ultimately educating the organization and governing bodies on how those standards apply to our products
- Establish the compliance strategy for Atom Power, evaluating optimal ROI for compliance projects (outsourced vs. accredited onsite laboratories)
- Coordinate compliance activity for each development project. This includes defining project scope, cost, schedule, coordination and securing labs and communicating plan to organization
- Define product requirements necessary to achieve safety and regulatory compliance in all regions our products are intended to be sold
- Develop, review and organize relevant test plans and test reports working with each organization's engineering leaders to assure completeness of plans
- Review and maintain compliance documentation for released products, reviewing all ECNs to ensure ongoing compliance
- Perform internal audits to assure compliant processes and compliant manufactured products
- Represent Atom Power on standard and technical committees
- Build and lead a team of compliance engineers and lab technicians
What you bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
- Demonstrated track record of building a compliance program with ownership for strategic direction, tactical execution to plan, and continuous improvement
- At least 10 years of product development compliance certification experience, ideally in EV charging, power systems, energy solutions, circuit protection, and or grid-tied smart products
- Direct management of compliance projects to ensure awareness, alignment, cross-functional collaboration, efficient workflows, and successful project execution
- Demonstrated experience drafting strong technical proposals based on engineering rationale and standards comprehension in order to drive clarity to "grey" technical requirements and differences in interpretation of standards with dedicated agency teams
- Fluent with UL, cUL, NEC, IEC, CSA, NFPA, and Global CB Scheme
- Knowledge of the following UL standards: 1998, 991, 1557, 489, 67, 2594, or 2231
