Position Overview
Responsible forpreparing food items in accordance with production requirements and qualitystandards while maintaining a safe, sanitary work environment.

Essential Job Functions
· Prepare food of consistent qualityfollowing recipe cards and production and portion standards, per dupe fromservers.
· Start food items that are preparedahead of time, making sure not to prepare over estimated needs.
· Date all food containers and rotate asper the SOP, making sure that all perishables are kept at proper temperatures.
· Check pars for shift use determinenecessary preparation, freezer pull and line set up. Note any out of stock items or possibleshortages. Assist in keeping buffetstocked.
· Return all food items not used on nextshift to designated storage areas, being sure to cover/date all perishables.
· Assist in setting up plans and actionsto correct any food cost problems, control food waste, loss and usage per SOP.
· Complete assigned duty checklist fordepartment.

Non-essential Job Functions
In addition to theperformance of the essential functions, this position may be required toperform a combination of the following supportive functions:
· Assist in prep work of vegetables andcondiments as required for the next shift.

QualificationsStandards

· Education and/or Experience
o High school education of equivalentexperience. Minimum one year foodservice or related work.
· Language Skills
o Ability to read and interpret documentssuch as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and proceduresmanuals. Ability to write routingreports and correspondence. Ability tospeak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
· Mathematical Skills
o Ability to work with mathematicalconcepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals ofgeometry. Ability to apply concepts suchas fractions, percentages, rations and proportions to practical situations.
· Reasoning Ability
o Ability to solve practical problems anddeal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limitedstandardization exists. Ability tointerpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram orschedule form.
· Physical Demands
o The physical demands described here areto representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfullyperform the essential functions of this job.
· Skills and Abilities
o Ability to operate, maintain andproperly clean deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer,slicer, oven, steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron and flat top grill.
