We are seeking a cook to work within our Crisis Observation and Inpatient Unit to ensure environmental and federal regulation cleanliness of all kitchen facilities and equipment, preparation and serving of Agency facilities meals. This position has been identified as a safety sensitive position that includes tasks or duties (i.e., driving) that the employer in good faith believes could affect the safety, health or reputation of the Agency, participants, the employee performing the task or others.
Qualifications Required
- HS diploma or GED with one year prior cook experience in an institutional setting; must have food handler’s card.
- Ability to maintain inventory.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work accurately and with minimal supervision.
- Ability to operate basic food line, preparation and kitchen equipment.
- Possess valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record, home telephone and reliable transportation
- Series of Hepatitis shots or declination of same.
- Certification in first aid and CPR; Agency will provide training if candidate does not possess active certification.
- Proof of good health by initial Physical examination and negative TB test.
- Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling a maximum of 100 pounds as needed.
- Have availability of telephone for easy access of Agency contact.
- Able to work nights, weekends, partial shifts, holidays and 8/10/12/16 hour shifts.
- Ability to type and working knowledge/familiarity with computers and electronic clinical record keeping.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain fingerprint clearance and pass a background check.
Qualifications Preferred
- Bilingual – English/Spanish.
- Experience working in Integrated Healthcare, Behavioral Health or Inpatient Unit.
- Advanced knowledge of cultural diversity and sensitivity.
