JOB DESCRIPTION-COOK

• Must be in attendance and on time each day you are scheduled to work.
• Must be in proper working attire and have all hair, clothes, etc. in clean condition while working.
• Must be able to combine ingredients and follow recipes given in order to make the food being served for the given day.
• Prepare the entrees, sides, soups and desserts for proper serving times for each meal.
• Heat/cool all food at each meal and maintain proper food temperatures throughout serving, required by the Board of Health.
• Follow proper health and safety requirements for certified assisted living facilities set forth by the State of Indiana.
• Be able to portion the food to each individual resident based upon what they request out of steam table.
• Must be able to operate, clean and notify supervisor of any maintenance needed for an oven, stovetop, deep fryer, steam table and dish washer.
• Must be able to fill out proper paperwork daily for food temperatures, refrigerator and walk in temperatures, dishwasher temperatures, numbers of meals served and the quality of the food and staff. These logs must be current, no exceptions.
• . You will be responsible for cleaning up your prep area. This includes, but is not limited to, tables, sinks, carts, dish washing area, floors, mats and walk ins. You are also responsible for washing your dishes used in the kitchen and taking your trash out at the end of shift.

• Must be able to follow instructions of the head cook and supervisor and be willing to help out others in the kitchen if needed

• You are responsible for looking at the menu 2 days in advance and properly laying out what is needed for those meals.
• Must follow all UFHC COVID-19 policies and infection Prevention practices (i.e., hand hygiene, PPE)
• Other duties as assigned.
