The Corporate Development Analyst for Apache Corporation will be a vital member of the Corporate Development team and reports directly to the Director of Corporate Development. This is a hybrid role combining work from our Houston office with working from home.
Support Corporate Development in the evaluation of potential transactions (both A&D and M&A), industry activity, capital markets, and transaction financing considerations
Build Excel-based financial models to evaluate potential transactions (including asset A&D models, corporate M&A models, and joint venture models) and, when an ARIES database is being prepared in parallel, work with technical team within Corporate Development to maintain reconciliation between the Excel-based model and the related ARIES database
Prepare summary materials on potential transactions for presentation to potential counterparties, Corporate Development leadership, Apache executive team, and Apache board of directors
Compile and analyze data from outside parties, internal asset teams, internal corporate departments, internal data systems, and public sources for transaction evaluation materials including well lists, acreage schedules, production data, capex data, and LOS analysis
Manage Q&A throughout transaction between internal Apache groups and outside parties through VDRs and/or email
Assist in negotiation and documentation of supporting transaction documents including CAs, bid letters, PSAs, JOAs, and TSAs Qualifications & Experience
Knowledge of finance and financial modeling, including experience working with and/or consulting for oil and gas exploration and production businesses
At least 3 years of experience working for and/or with large energy companies that have exploration and production assets and operations (international experience is a plus)
Outstanding communication, interpersonal, management, administrative, organizational, and leadership skills
High level of intellectual curiosity and desire to dig in to understand new concepts
Experience implementing sound decisions when faced with new and/or complex problems
Demonstrated ability to communicate vision and set goals
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related discipline
Ability to prioritize multiple projects
High degree of initiative and independent judgment Competencies
