The Corporate & Investment Bank ("CIB") Treasury is a critical function within CIB Finance and Business Management. It is responsible for managing the liquidity, balance sheet and capital positions of the investment banking businesses, establishing transparent and market-based funds transfer pricing policy, and developing methodologies and metrics to improve capital, leverage, collateral and liquidity risk management capabilities of the CIB. Additionally, CIB Treasury interacts with Global Treasury in developing stress assumptions, contributing to the resolution plan submission, producing liquidity risk metrics and analysis including intraday aspects; managing CIB balance sheet and leverage ratios; and consolidating management and regulatory reporting.
The CIB Capital Controllers team is a group within the CIBT Treasury function whose primary responsibility is reporting of the risk weighted assets ("RWA") and capital for the CIB. The team ensures that the CIB businesses' RWA and capital are in line with the overall capital framework, and provides insight and guidance into the usage of capital. Clients of the group include corporate counterparts, senior management, capital policy and legal, business heads, Line of Business product controllers, and planning and analysis teams. The team works extensively with the Sub-Line of Business controller groups to attest to the completeness and accuracy of RWA and capital results for the CIB. The group also partners with Capital Management Office to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the regulatory landscape and the accurate execution of capital policies.
Position Overview
We are looking for a strategic thinker to be part of a high-performing finance team who serves as a trusted advisor to CIB management and Corporate partners, providing clarity on how to best use analytics to gain insights, evaluate metrics, and drive results.
The Associate will cover Basel III RWA Secured Financing Transactions which consist of Repo Style Transactions, Margin Loans, and Fails with a focus on providing detailed analytics and reporting of results for these products.
Job Responsibilities
- Execute the end-to-end reporting of CIB Basel III RWA results for Secured Financing Transactions -Repo Style Transactions, Margin Loans, and Fails based on a monthly and quarterly cycle
- Responsibility for calculating RWA results, preparation and collection of adjustments and management saves
- Partnering with Corporate and CIB Line of Business controller groups to ensure accuracy and completeness of RWA results, as well as identify major driver
- Creating in-depth period over period analysis for senior management review
- Oversight of internal and external reports and schedules (Pillar 3, HCR/RCR and FFIEC 101), as applicable for Repo, Margin Loans, and Fails RWA
- Perform ad-hoc projects, technology build-outs, and automation initiatives
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders and finance partners across the firm
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field
- 3+ years of experience in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Outstanding written and verbal communications
- Good understanding of financial products and markets, as well as ability to link results to activities
- Ability to work collaboratively and develop strong relationships across the organization
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with internal JPM systems a plus
- Existing proficiency with, or willingness to learn, automation tools (Xceptor, Alteryx, Tableau)
