SUMMARY

Cherokee Preting is seeking a Data Scientist to support the identification, assessment, and disruption of threats to cleared industry, cleared personnel, DOD, and Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA). The Data Scientist will facilitate USG responses to adversary action and insider threats by sharing threat indicators and enabling responsive measures from other agencies and services and develop cyber capabilities and processes that illuminate threats, enhance awareness, and enable customer response.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:

  • Develop and operationalize an enterprise security risk management methodology across Government and industry stakeholders.
  • Develop, produce, and maintain Directorate
  • Work with functional managers and other data scientists to understand the baselines, norms, and pain points of the
  • Maintain monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPI) maintaining current numbers and provide suggestions for future KPI’s.
  • Produce and disseminate monthly reports to include trends, numbers, and operational
  • Develop and manage internal tools for data discovery, visualization and insight for internal
  • Provide detailed analysis of existing schemas, common fields, unique fields, schema mapping and discovering data formatting differences with agency data.
  • Provide data cleanup and define field terms, identify conflicts, and provide recommendations for cleanup solutions to align with shared, interagency understandings.
  • Identify and collect data from various sources, evaluate the data to ensure that they meet analytic needs, and prepare the data for analysis.
  • Performs statistical analysis, applies data mining techniques, and builds high quality prediction
  • Coordinate, collaborate, and engage with customers and
  • Collaborate with DCSA mission management, agency components, and data professionals using data which supports alignment CI resources to strategy, performance reporting, and program planning.
  • Communicate with stakeholders and conduct research to develop an understanding of relevant programs and
  • Inform senior level decision-making using data-driven analysis, and supports alignment of resources to
  • Participate in interviewing for data roles and data capability development at Ad
  • Coordinate with other elements within DCSA CI and DCSA, as
  • Recommend and advise senior leaders on the development of new
  • Select, apply, and assess analytic models and techniques, and review and verify the results. Analyze large and complex data sets and communicate results and findings to senior leaders and executives, including through the use of visualizations.
  • Recommend and develop new data analysis techniques for CI and Insider Threat
  • Support Directorate data migration
  • Support data migration efforts for the CI and Insider Threat
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Desired to have a minimum 8 years of experience related to the specific labor category with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years.
  • Preferred to have a Bachelor's degree in an area related to the labor category from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Able to conduct data analytics, data engineering, data mining, exploratory analysis, predictive analysis, and statistical analysis, and uses scientific techniques to correlate data into graphical, written, visual and verbal narrative products, enabling more informed analytic decisions.
  • Proactively retrieves information from various sources, analyzes it for better understanding about the data set, and builds artificial intelligence tools that automate certain processes.
  • Skilled at creating various ML-based tools or processes, such as recommendation engines or automated lead scoring systems.
  • Performs statistical analysis, applies data mining techniques, and builds high quality prediction systems.
  • Skilled in data visualization and use of graphical applications, including Microsoft Office (Power BI) and Tableau; major data science languages, such as R and Python; managing and merging of disparate data sources, preferably through R, Python, or SQL; statistical analysis; and data mining algorithms.
  • Prior experience with large data Multi-INT analytics, ML, and automated predictive
  • Must have an active Top Secret / SCI level security clearance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is primarily performed in a climate-controlled office environment.
