Position Summary

The Designer will create high quality conceptual and technical drawings for concept approval and fabrication. This position will focus primarily on technical shop drawings for exterior signage systems but will include interior shop drawings as well. This is a technical creative role, so you will be expected to work on a variety of different projects at any given time. This will be an in-house position in our Boston/Orlando fabrication facility.

Specific Responsibilities

· Takes conceptual design intent drawings and produces scaled production drawings for manufacturing.

· Ensures the specification drawings reflect the required design intent.

· Works with Project Managers and Sales Executives to ensure the specification drawings reflect the required design intent.

· Works closely with other designers and shop fabricators to ensure materials, callouts and construction details are easy to understand and are accurate for production.

· Works with outside vendors to ensure outsourced parts are fabricated correctly.

· Designs concept drawings for sales presentation and budget pricing.

· Provides suggestions for graphic solutions based on parameters given by the customer, collaborate with sales and project management teams to determine customer needs and specifics.

· Produces full scale cut files for in house production as well as outside vendors.

· Coordinate details (colors, finish materials, etc.) with order processing

· Update design prints using Adobe Illustrator.

· Create paper patterns for installation.

· Facilitate LED and power supply loading information.

Position Requirements

· 2 or 4-year degree in industrial design, engineering, architecture, or related field.

· At least 2 years of work experience in a production art or sign manufacturing capacity.

· Proficient in Adobe Creative suite (especially Adobe Illustrator).

· Must have a strong attention to detail.

· Detail-oriented capabilities to maintain records, multi-task, and hand handle tight deadlines.

· Strong understanding of graphic composition, typography, color, and scale.

· Must have a strong knowledge of material, fabrication methods and mechanical aptitude.

· Knowledge of architectural proportions and scale; able to read and interpret blueprints.

· Able to understand and design 3-dimensional product and understand physical space relationships.

Work Environment

This position is based in a light manufacturing setting. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently required to have the following capabilities. · Physical demands: Sitting, standing, and walking, with the ability to stand for long periods of time. They will used hands to handle or touch objects or controls. On occasion, they may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders. The may occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.

· Language skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret information, which is written in the English language. Ability to write, speak, and listen in a professional manner.

· Visual abilities: Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision, and ability to adjust focus.

· Mathematical skills: Understanding of fundamental math concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to find practical solutions. Must be able to read measurements.

Benefits

This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week Monday through Friday (8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.); additional hours may be required. It will start at a rate commensurate with experience. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
