Job description
Summary
Campaign Development Support
Malaika Early Learning Center, Inc. is looking for assistance from an experienced development person or organization with our new Thrive on King - Malaika Early Learning Center. This $105MM facility is being built in conjunction with the ThriveOn Collaboration, Greater Milwaukee Foundation, Medical College of Wisconsin and Royal Capital (visit www.thriveoncollaboration.org ). Malaika's contribution will be the operation of a 5 Star rated Early Learning Facility for 80 children and their families along with a teaching/education focus to work with local childcare providers. Our goal is to be both a resource and a center of excellence for all Childcare providers in the Harambee, Halyard Park and Brewers Hill neighborhoods. The facility has been designed to be both a world class early learning facility as well as being a teaching facility. Each classroom will have observation rooms and an adult learning facility has been incorporated in the upper level.

- Work with TOK Committee and Executive Director to come up with the "Sell"/case for support i.e. what makes this project unique and worth giving to. This will be important since this campaign will be targeting larger organizations who may have not dealt with Malaika and who might not be interested in giving to the operations of an Early Learning Center. There is a need to communicate the uniqueness of this endeavor and its potential impact on thousands of children over a couple year period. There are no other facilities in Wisconsin set up this way and very few around the country.
- Develop the range of giving levels and benefits of each level (Naming, etc.)
- Develop a prospect list of individuals, companies, foundations, and grant making organizations.
- Develop collateral to be provided with each solicitation.
- Implement Donor Engagement Process:
- Initial Outreach/Follow up Outreach
- Development of Proposals
- Arrangement of Tours/Meetings
- Coordination of TOK Development Committee Meetings
- Coordination of collaborative activities with GMF
- Develop and share stewardship communications with donors to share progress and impact of gifts/grants.
- Submit responses to LOIs for institutional donors and follow-up grant reports.
- Provide regular updates on progress towards goal for TOK Committee.
