ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM:
The Human Capital Operations team at TelevisaUnivision is looking for a Director, Labor & Employee Relations.
Reporting to the SVP, Total Rewards and Human Capital Operations, the Director, Labor & Employee Relations will oversee the adherence of policies, procedures, and programs of the company’s Employee Relations department, developing and improving programs related to employee ethics, morale, and satisfaction.

Reporting to the SVP, Total Rewards and Human Capital Operations, the Director, Labor & Employee Relations will oversee the adherence of policies, procedures, and programs of the company’s Employee Relations department, developing and improving programs related to employee ethics, morale, and satisfaction.
ABOUT YOU:
- You are a discreet, experienced employee relations leader who possesses excellent problem solving, project management and presentation skills with solid written and verbal communication skills including the ability to interface with all levels inside and outside of the company in a positive and professional manner.
YOUR DAY-DAY:
- Manage employee relations situations, including disciplinary issues, interpersonal employee conflicts, performance management concerns, sensitive and/or high-risk leaves of absence, and other employee-related matters to successful resolution.
- Conduct, direct and manage, employee relations investigations regarding complaints, harassment, integrity violations, retaliation, and performance concerns.
- Provide recommendations and collaborate with HRBPs, Labor Relations and Employment Law on solutions, investigatory outcomes and/or formal disciplinary action.
- Create an environment of positive employee relations and coaching by respecting confidentiality, establishing trust and credibility, being seen by employees as approachable and fair, and balancing business with employee needs.
- Conduct and manage performance, corrective action, and integrity issues in collaboration with HRBPs, Legal and Labor Relations
- Strong knowledge of state and Federal employment practices, policies, legal & EEOC guidelines, as well as compensation, wage and hour, benefits administration, etc.
- Manage employee relations activities, monitoring and reporting, and conflict resolution initiatives
- Continually monitor and maintain company policies and procedures, and remain current on relevant legal issues relating to employment
- Partner with Compliance and/or Legal to design and deliver training to managers, employees and HR business partners on relevant ER topics and recent employment law updates
- Develop an ER case management system / process to log and track case progress, disciplinary actions, and metrics to gather insights, confirm consistency of actions, determine trends, and develop proactive strategies to remediate risk within the business
YOU HAVE:
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or labor/employee relations professional certification
- Minimum 8 years relevant employee relations and/or HR Business Partner with heavy ER experience
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws and regulation and its pragmatic application (e.g., state specific FMLA, ADA, COBRA and Workers’ Compensation, disability leaves of absence, etc.)
- Familiarity with HCM systems (Workday and Oracle)
- Experienced at conducting internal investigations with a sense of urgency and objectivity
- Proven relationship builder with strong consultative, coaching, counseling, and conflict resolution skills
- Creative problem solver with ability to influence and articulate a variety of issues to different audiences, tailoring messages accordingly
- Must be detail-oriented and organized, with excellent follow-through and analytical skills
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to a diverse, fast paced environment with changing priorities
