Director of Logistics and Warehousing
Job description
About 8th Avenue
8th Avenue Food & Provisions is a leading manufacturer of private brand food products. The Company’s primary businesses include organic and conventional peanut and tree nut butter, dry pasta, and organic and non-GMO granola. With revenue near $1 billion, 8th Avenue is a market leader in all its product categories. The customer base is diversified across the largest food retailers, foodservice distributors, and CPG manufacturers in North America. Beyond private label, the business also operates as both an ingredients provider and co-manufacturer across its categories.
8th Avenue became a stand-alone entity in 2018 when Post Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: POST) combined and then spun off its private brands’ businesses for the purpose of driving consolidation in the private brand industry. Thomas H. Lee Partners, a leading private equity firm, invested $250 million to capitalize on the newly created business in partnership with Post.
8th Avenue’s stated mission is to grow into a $3B business focused on private brands by becoming their customers’ preferred partner in profitably growing their brands and businesses. This will involve organic growth as well as acquisitions. 8th Avenue is primarily a B-to-B business that values teamwork, transparency, accountability, and practical excellence.
8th Avenue operates ten production facilities across North America in three big categories: pasta, nut butter, and granola/muesli. The businesses carved out of Post operated as individual segments previously, but they have now been integrated to create a private brand platform of scale benefitting from the sector growth in private label food.
In the last several months, 8th Avenue has invested in talent, positioning the company for rapid growth. Scott McNair joined as CEO & President during the summer and quickly worked to establish a scalable organization model and focused on bringing in top talent.
Thomas H. Lee Partners (THL) is one of the oldest and most experienced private equity firms. THL was founded in 1974, has raised over $22 billion of equity capital, and has invested in more than 140 portfolio companies with an aggregate value of over $150 billion. THL’s website is www.thl.com.
Post Holdings, headquartered in St. Louis, is a consumer-packaged goods holding company operating in the center-of-the-store, food service, food ingredient, refrigerated, convenient nutrition, and private brand food categories. Annual revenue is near $6 billion. Post website is www.postholdings.com.
