I Am Abiomed | I Am Heart Recovery | Patients First!

The Director of US Production will be responsible for production output, quality and on time delivery for the Danvers facility. This leader will also be responsible for Abiomed's production scale up to align with future growth. Major responsibilities include: (1) meeting production objectives in terms of cost, quality, and delivery (2) leading significant product line “leaning” and scale-up initiatives, (3) continuing to drive the Abiomed culture within our manufacturing division (4) align with Engineering and Product development to ensure new products are brought to market. This position reports directly to the Global Manufacturing Leader and will drive a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence in all aspects of the Manufacturing and Supply chain areas. This individual is well regarded as a “people’s person” to all with the ability to speak strategically regarding business objectives.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities :

• Act as the primary focal point for all US production needs. Responsible for all production output, quality and on time delivery for the Danvers facility
• Lead 250+ employees growing to 300+ in 2023, in 150,000 SqFt. Of Production space
• Key site leader for all Danvers activities
• Serve as leader for all significant scale-up initiatives aligning capacity, NPD, and organizational needs to scale 4X in 5 years
• Work directly with operators with a “hands-on” mentality and then present capacity or efficiency gains to the highest levels of management in a highly professional manner
• Influence and learn from below
• Optimize factory throughput and space requirements
• Share a trusting relationship with work group and recruit, manage, and develop staff
• Commit to plant safety and quality procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement into all departments, monitor progress with consistent metrics and recognize and reward significant accomplishment

Qualifications

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required
• 10+ years’ experience in high technology manufacturing operations with lean or CI culture
• Demonstrated track record of delivering results in a complex environment
• Demonstrated ability to lead cultural excellence within a multi-level team
• Extremely proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, and PowerPoint with strong presentation skills.
• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control Tools (Statistics) and ability to evaluate process limits (Accuracy / Repeatability) a plus
