Job description
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE MANAGER
Provide counseling, emotional support, and domestic violence education for clients. Provide case management, assist with safety planning, and create a care plan for clients. Work closely with other direct service staff to ensure the program provides excellent and consistent services.
- Facilitate empowerment and support groups
- Provide counseling, support, safety planning, and case management to clients
- Responsible for the oversight and upkeep of support group areas
- Document all client meetings and groups and maintain client files to meet agency and funder requirements
- Ensure all clients feel understood, safe, in control of their own lives, competent and cared for.
- Make client referrals and network with appropriate agencies
- Engage in activities to increase public awareness and education related to the issues of domestic violence
- Limited on call duties
- Ensure relationships with co-workers are communicative, safe, empowering and supportive.
- Maintain compliance with all agency policies and procedures
- Attend all meetings, complete all forms and reports required by direct supervisor, funders, CEO
Carry out other duties as assigned or as necessary to ensure organizational success
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Professional experience in crisis intervention, individual counseling and group facilitation. Strong oral and written communication skills. Experience with case management. Minimum of two years' experience in social services preferred. Experience working with victims of domestic violence preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with clients, staff and community partners.
- Computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary service
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
- Completion of 40-hour Domestic Violence training course
- Completion of 20-hour training for facilitators of partner abuse intervention programs.
Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
