SUMMARY:
This position requires a strong aptitude and hands on approach in Electrical design, implementation, calculation, and theory. This individual should also have a good to strong experience in PLC design and troubleshooting. This individual must be strong in electrical circuitry configuration with the ability to troubleshoot simple to complex circuitry and provide solutions to any issues that arise in this area of expertise.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Complete and assign work orders as assigned; complete job tickets including start time, work order numbers, account numbers, and equipment numbers; give description of work performed on work order; request parts from storeroom and give clerk appropriate work order number; replace or repair parts as needed to keep equipment safe and operating.
- Must perform all assigned tasks and demonstrate proficiency in Electrical design, implementation, calculation and theory. This individual should also demonstrate a good to strong experience in PLC operation and troubleshooting and be able to diagnose electrical and PLC related issues and provide valid solutions. The understanding of ladder logic is a must for this position.
- This individual must be able to troubleshoot, specify and install VFD’s as needed.
- Must be able to create schematics and bills of material for new project installations.
- Must be able to make conduit and circuit runs as needed to support new equipment installations.
- Must perform all work with minimum or no supervision.
- Communicate and demonstrate ability to outline problem area and potential solutions.
- Must be able to read and interpret schematics.
- Demonstrate an exceptionally good attitude and is willing to do more than is required.
- Must be knowledgeable concerning plant operations to insure continued operation of specified production equipment.
- Have and maintain an excellent safety and housekeeping record.
- Observe and practice safety rules at all times. Safety shoes are required. Must attend biweekly safety meetings.
- Perform all requirements of sanitation, GMP/HACCP standards including hairnets, beard nets, and personal hygiene policies.
- Must be self-motivated, strong in leadership skills, able to read, write and comprehend directives and gives directives in an understandable manner.
- Demonstrate the ability to set a good example by working with others and by taking the initiative to self-start projects or tasks.
- Must possess good documentation skills for reports and data collection.
- Communicate well with all personnel and give feedback to the department.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Individual must show a strong aptitude in industrial electrical troubleshooting skills and repair. This individual should also have a good to strong aptitude in PLC theory and troubleshooting. This individual must be strong in electrical circuitry configuration and the ability to troubleshoot simple to complex circuitry with little or no supervision and provide valid solutions.
- Must be able to read and interpret electrical schematics.
- Must be trained and certified in forklift operation or be able to obtain one. Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be trained in LOTO and other safety training as required for safe performance of job duties.
- Must be self-motivated, possess or able to obtain leadership skills, able to read, write, and comprehend directives and accomplish those directives with little or no supervision.
- Demonstrate leadership skills in working with others and be able to take the initiative to self start projects and tasks.
- Must possess good documentation skills for reports and data collection.
- Communicate well with area personnel and give feedback to the department.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High School graduate or equivalent. Technical school certification and or college degree is a plus.
- Formal technical training or five years minimum work experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Satisfy the requirements of a Electrical Controls Technician 1I electrical discipline for not less than one year.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Verbal and written English skills are required for safety, equipment maintenance, and recording of information.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The physical requirements listed below are rated on a percentage per workday basis. Reference is made according to the terms "Seldom" (1-19%), "Occasional" (20-39%), "Frequent" (40-79%), and "Continuous" (80-100%).
- Standing/Walking: Frequent to continuous: Varies with work orders. Employee walks on wet concrete, asphalt, dirt, ladders, platforms, rooftops, and catwalks.
- Sitting: Seldom. While riding in or driving vehicles and machinery, or involved in repair at workbench.
- Lifting/ Carrying: Occasional to continuous. Varies with work orders, repair and maintenance activities. Lifting to 75lbs.
- Pushing/Pulling: Occasional to continuous. Varies with work orders assigned: plumbing, line repair, cleanup activities, equipment moving.
- Reaching/Stretching: Occasional to continuous. Varies with work orders assigned: covering doors with plastic, painting, filter replacing, plumbing, equipment servicing.
- Handling: Occasional to continuous. Varies with work orders assigned as above.
- Bending/Stooping: Occasional to continuous. Varies with work orders assigned.
- Kneeling: Occasional. To reach ground level.
- Climbing: Occasional. To service machinery that is not within reach. Plumbing, AHU's valves, etc.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
- Outdoor conditions in heat, cold, wind, high ammonia, dust, mushroom spores. Inside conditions are often damp and/or wet creating a most environment. Floors are level concrete. Temperatures are between 20 to 110 degrees.
- Maintain sanitation standards as developed and announced. Recognize that special clothing may be required from time to time for sanitation proposes.
- Good housekeeping practices at work place and plant area.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:
Electrical rated steel toed boots/shoes always required. Safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and protective clothing are frequently required depending upon the area and/or activities engaged in.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:
Individual must provide basic hand tools, electrical testing equipment such as a multi-meter and amp probe.
Work Schedules:
Our plants operate at all times, and employees are expected to work assigned days and times. Work schedules for employees vary throughout our organization. Supervisors will inform employees or crews of their work schedules. Staffing needs and operational demands may necessitate variations in starting and ending times, as well as variations in the total hours that may be scheduled each day and week.
All employees are employed at will, and the employee or Monterey Mushrooms may end employment for any reason at any time. The at-will status cannot be changed verbally.

Employee works 70% of time indoors on level concrete in various areas including growing rooms, packing rooms, administration offices and boiler rooms; works 30% of time outdoors on or near equipment. Surfaces include level concrete that is sometimes moist, dirt, asphalt, ladders, machinery and uneven ground.
