We are currently searching for a bright, professional and friendly Facilities Coordinator to assist and oversee all activities within and around the owned and leased facilities of the University of Michigan Credit Union; to ensure the health, safety and service standards are met and arrange for repairs as needed.

What will you be doing in this role?
  • Oversee building and equipment maintenance schedules which includes preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Respond to urgent maintenance calls, including off hours, from team members or vendors in alignment with UMCU Service Standards
  • Diagnose maintenance tasks including, but not limited to plumbing, carpentry, electrical, mechanical, and painting. Determine next course of action. Perform first level assessment/repairs and coordinate with vendor as needed.
  • Provides recommendations including cost estimates regarding the timing for required repair or replacement, whether routine or non-routine, of equipment including, but not limited to, boilers, air handling units and pumps.
  • Manage and use computer systems and software for monitoring of service requests, control and monitor mechanical equipment, utility, and security systems maintenance.
  • Manage the Key Inventory, camera system, access-control system and security system database to ensure compliance with UMCU standards.
  • Manage custodial duties and contracts such as branch cleaning, window cleaning, snow removal, landscaping, etc. Ensure upkeep and monitoring of UMCU property with periodic scheduled visits.
  • Manage UMCU vehicle inventory including routine service / detail cleaning and emergency repair.
  • Obtains estimates for supplies, repair parts; orders parts as needed.
  • Test building security systems including fire panels and promote safety within the location. Assists Facilities leadership in creating and maintaining emergency procedures for building evacuation and other action plans in case of emergencies. Assist Facilities Admin with set up, maintenance and organization of department intranet page with relevant information to comply with UMCU service expectations
  • Review, maintain and organize vendor invoices and coordinate payment.
  • Manage equipment and supply needs including furniture, telecommunications, appliances, office equipment, supplies and climate control. Maintain department specification file to ensure consistency in brand across all locations
  • Train and educate all UMCU Facilities team members and contractors as needed. Serve as a liaison in building and maintaining relationships.
  • Represent the Facilities Department in inter-departmental meetings to support and facilitate communication between departments.
  • Assist the AVP and VP of Branch Operations and Facilities with all aspects of project and construction implementation as needed
  • Assist the AVP and VP of Branch Operations and Facilities with all aspects of audit requirements from the Audit and Compliance Committee.
  • Volunteers in various activities sponsored by UMCU within and communities we serve and partner relationships.
  • Maintains knowledge of and follows all credit union policies and procedures regarding BSA, OFAC, U.S. Patriot Act, Anti-Money Laundering, S.A.F.E Act, CFPB regulations and Customer Identification Program
  • Other duties as assigned
What you will need for this role:
  • Associate’s degree or in pursuit of; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools
  • Must have hands-on experience in completing maintenance work
  • Must be a team player and possess a high energy “can do” attitude
Physical Demands/Work Environment
  • The environment is typical of an office atmosphere. The team member is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration, a variety of extreme weather conditions on facility grounds. The noise level in the work environment and facility grounds can be loud.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is very active and frequently required to sit; stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, and talk or hear. The team member must frequently lift and/or move over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
