The Resume Program’s goal is to attract a diverse and skilled talent pool by offering opportunities to professionals who are looking to return to work following a recent career break. This will be a 6-month return-to-work program beginning in June 2023 in our Raleigh/Durham, NC; Westlake, TX; Boston, MA; Smithfield, RI; and Merrimack, NH offices. We are actively recruiting professionals who have taken a voluntary break in their career for 2+ years and are now ready to return to the workforce.
Candidates who have worked in part-time roles or have done independent contracting will be considered for this opportunity. It is a cohort-based model that allows individuals to re-enter the workforce in a supported way with a group of fellow returning professionals. We provide a one-week intensive onboarding specially designed to build the skills needed to successfully re-enter the workforce. This proven approach fosters camaraderie among colleagues, builds confidence and upgrades professional skills that will be invaluable throughout this next phase of their career.
- Note some of the responsibilities and areas of expertise listed below represent performance expectations to be met by the end of the 6-month program. The RESUME program is designed to help candidates on-ramp and upskill. We encourage all candidates with prior experience to apply!
Your Role:
We are currently seeking a qualified, Scrum Master who is passionate about Agile and is driven by building highly effective teams! We are looking for CHANGE AGENTS across the Enterprise with a passion for supporting teams to transform their behaviors towards and within an Agile environment! You blend deep Scrum expertise with passion for coaching and constant improvement.
As a Scrum Master, you’ll be a part of a highly collaborative, cross-functional Scrum team within a division of Fidelity. You will advise and empower client-obsessed teams to think creatively, take risks and consider the “What if...” scenario all the while ensuring that the squad is fully functional, productive, and focused on the sprint goal.
The Expertise We Are Looking For:
- 2+ years’ experience in a scrum master role or similar
- Experience using JIRA, Confluence, MS Teams, Mural, &/or Jira Align is a plus
- Effective facilitator who can actively listen, remain neutral, ensure all voices are heard and ask open ended questions
- Certified Scrum Master or related training
- Use of Metrics to visualize how the team is performing and where they can improve
- A change agent who advocates for continuous improvement and is Innovative, Analytical and a Strategic Problem solver
- Possess superb communication and people-interaction skills, and can collaborate and partner with others within and outside the team
- Understanding of JIRA/Kanban boards
The Skills You Bring:
- Providing agile coaching and mentoring to the team
- Guiding use of the scrum and scaled agile framework
- Effectively facilitating scrum and scaled agile ceremonies
- Helping remove impediments and coordinate dependencies
- Strong proficient and experience with encouraging Agile behaviors, reinforcing practices, norms, ceremonies, and supporting the overall Squad performance and efficiency
- Identifying team improvement opportunities and looking externally for best practices to support continuous improvement
- Leading and coordinating logistics for Agile ceremonies and practices, e.g., backlog maintenance, sprint planning, daily scrum and retrospectives
- Ensuring all work is tracked in the backlog and accurately balances across team members
- Maintaining and updating the Squad’s process metrics and artifacts to ensure accurate and clear communications to partners

- Work with business and technology partners to define the scope of problems/issues, in terms of business and/or system requirements and processes.
- Work with Agile team to develop user stories, acceptance criteria, and story maps.
- Work with business partners to understand project objectives, timelines, use cases and requirements.
- Provide support in estimating, planning, scheduling, and prioritizing work.
- Aligning drivers and capabilities to help define/new processes for optimizing work and integrating technical and business services
- Apply documentation standards and practices.
