PROPERTY DESCRIPTION

ROLE SUMMARY
The Food & Beverage Operations Manager reports to the Director of Food & Beverage and is responsible for ensuring that visitors to the hotel are delighted by the quality, creativity and variety of our food and beverage offerings, and that our culinary reputation is second to none in our local market
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Food and Beverage Operations Manager will be responsible for managing multiple clients and events simultaneously as are necessary for success in this position. Communication skills and a positive attitude are essential.
- Prime contact with meeting/event stakeholders and ensuring all client's needs and expectations are met.
- Responsible for all aspects of the planning process, including, but not limited to resort (meeting space, food, and beverage, AV, etc.), attendee management and communications, shipping materials, invoicing, and budget management.
- Ensure that meetings/events progress seamlessly by following established procedures, collaborating with colleagues, and ensuring accuracy.
- Adhere to all Auberge standards, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure billing accuracy (always) and conduct bill reviews with the clients prior to processing the final bill (when required).
- Identify operational challenges associated with the guests and determine how to best work with colleagues and customers to solve these challenges and/or develop alternative solutions.
- Use sound judgment to integrate current trends in event management and event design, where applicable.
- Participate in site inspections and assist with the sales process, as necessary.
- Maintain collaborative and positive working relationships with all peers.
- Develop and maintain client relationships by delivering the highest level of customer service.
- Proactively respond to requests and inquiries from attendees and clients in a timely manner.
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
- Be aware of competitor offerings in the local market
- Be an ambassador of The Vanderbilt, reach out in the community to foster relationships, market the food & beverage aspects of the hotel, and be present in the outlets for continual feedback and areas for improvement
- Oversee all Food & Beverage and Catering areas, ensuring a smooth running, profitable operation within the Hotel
- Remain personally responsible for maximizing quality levels of product, service, and guest satisfaction
- Develop and supervise all F&B team members, delivering motivational and inspirational daily rallies
- Identify training needs and develop and deliver the required training for departmental employees
- Complete duties as assigned by the Director of Food & Beverage up to and including covering MOD shifts in the restaurant
- Assist with the training and development of all F&B team members
- Work alongside team members to create a culture of teamwork and service excellence
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Serve Safe Certification highly appreciated
- Excellent knowledge of food and wine is a must as well as fine dining operations Superior professional appearance and manner
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Ideal candidate possesses 3+ years of experience in an Events Leadership or Restaurant Manager/Supervisor position, preferably in five-star establishments
- Strong administrative skills, to include, reporting, budgeting, project management
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal English communication skills; computer literate
- Ability to respond to emergency situations and remain calm.
- Must be organized, detail-oriented and able to prioritize simultaneous tasks in a fast-paced environment and work effectively and efficiently to support and maintain good relationships with internal departments, clients, and suppliers

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Appearance must be clean and professional with a cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times.
The position requires interactions with Guests as well as with members of staff and the management team.
Able to work on a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, according to departmental and operational needs.
TIPS certification required to be submitted in the first 60 days of employment
