Job description
About the Opportunity
The Government Relations Manager will be responsible for furthering CGI's existing relationships with U.S. government officials and networks of elected officials at the federal, state, and city level, and help to recommend and engage government actors and develop new relationships relevant to CGI programming. In addition, the Manager will stay abreast of current events involving CGI's government contacts and the geographies, subject areas or themes they represent.
This position requires in-depth knowledge of U.S. government affairs and top-of-mind policy issues, and an ability to think creatively. The ideal candidate will possess superb research, communication, and follow-through skills. Experience engaging with high-level government officials and helping execute their participation in large-scale events is preferred. A background that intersects with one or more of CGI's three substantive pillars – health equity, inclusive economic recovery and growth, and climate resilience—is desired.
The Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) convenes global and emerging leaders to create and implement solutions to the world's most pressing challenges. CGI works with partners to drive action through its unique model. Rather than directly implementing projects, CGI facilitates action by helping partners connect, collaborate, and develop Commitments to Action — new, specific, and measurable plans that address global challenges.
