Job description

The Healthy Homes Educator delivers informal public education in the areas of home safety, lead poisoning awareness and prevention, indoor air quality, asthma trigger reduction, fire safety, other home health concerns, and energy savings. The educator works county-wide with a focus on disadvantaged settings with diverse program participants in their homes and surrounding communities. The educator also performs data collection, reporting, and program participant recruitment. Recruitment efforts include public presentations and making strong connections with current and future partner organizations.

This position works primarily out of the CCE Albany’sVoorheesville, NY office, but the majority of each day is spent traveling throughout targeted neighborhoods to do informal public education via home visits and community-based events. The educator works as part of a flexible Community Resources Development (CRD) program - performing existing or new responsibilities which can change based on Association needs, new grant initiatives, etc.

This position is full-time (37.5 hours/week) and is paid at a rate of $18.91 to $20.36 per hour and includes 21 Vacation days, 14 Holidays, 3 Personal days and 12 Sick days annually. Qualifications include an Associate's degree plus related experience. A High school diploma/GED equivalent and 1-year related experience may substitute for an Associate’s degree.
