The LFS Group is looking for a Histology Technologist to develop and monitor the work activities in the Histology Lab and the Morgue. Performs routine histological activities of receiving, preparing, and processing surgical specimens for patients.

Schedule:

• 11:00 pm to 7:30 am
• Monday through Friday

Responsibilities:

• Develops and monitors the work activities in the Histology Lab and the Morgue.
• Performs routine histological activities of receiving, preparing, and processing surgical specimens for patients.
• Prepare samples and slides for analysis by a pathologist or other specialist.
• Responsible for maintaining quality control standards in the laboratory, abiding by all sanitation and sterilization protocol, and ensuring all processes adhere to department policies and regulations.
• Prepare solutions and other materials, and maintain and clean lab equipment and tools.

Qualifications:

• Must have one of the following: Successful completion of a formal histology technologist training program or certified as an HT (ASCP), AND four (4) years experience in histology laboratory techniques and procedures, OR Bachelor’s degree in Histology.
• Must have: Minimum of four (4) years of experience in histology laboratory techniques and procedures, OR minimum of one (1) year prior supervisory experience.
• Attention to detail, good physical dexterity, and good written and oral communication skills
• Applicants must demonstrate skills as described in the promotion path guidelines Preferred:
• Computer keyboard and information system experience.
• Immuno chemistry experience and/or training.
• Bachelor’s degree in science, plus successful completion of a formal histology technologist training program.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
