Job description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: include the following and other duties may be assigned as needed.
- Troubleshoots and repairs electrical/electronic equipment including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems and programmable controls, control relays, DC power supplies, drives, gauges, and test equipment. Voltages 480 3Ø to 2000A, 120Vac & 24 Vdc. HVAC support, plant lighting repairs.
- Plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and basic mechanical theories and principles, basic under-standing of national electrical codes, and basic principles of operation and application of electronic equipment, motor controls, industrial automation concepts etc.
- Installs, starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements.
Must have an understanding of LOTO and all the potential energy sources.
- Communicates with operators, team and line mechanics about equipment operational procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment and related components.
- Informs production management and team mechanics of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved. Communicates all issues effectively with Manager & plant engineer.
- Maintains company-required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment. Shift Logs.
- Performs preventive maintenance functions as directed.
- Assists maintenance personnel with technical troubleshooting.
- Performs other duties as required/directed.
- Ability/experience with the following:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Two-Four year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship program or the equivalent in a industrial maintenance field is highly desired. 5 years of proven hands-on experience in the industrial electrical/electronics, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic fields are required and the ability to demonstrate high proficiency in these areas.
- A thorough knowledge of electrical/ electronic components and equipment including the use of special instruments (DMM, Meters) for diagnostic purposes.
- Must be able to work well with all levels of personnel whether individually or in a team environment, and especially must be able to interface and communicate with line operators in order to assist with repairs and troubleshooting.
- Willing to work other shifts and overtime as required.
- Basic PC proficiency including: Microsoft Office Suite, Serial, USB
- Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- High degree of precision working with minimum tolerances required.
- Ability to climb to overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work.
- Exposed to high voltage electricity 2000Vdc – 480 Vac – 120 Vac – 24 Vdc
- Strong organizational & planning abilities, superior analytical & problem-solving skills are essential.
- Self-motivated and detailed oriented.
- Ability to present information quickly, effectively and to respond to questions.
