Roxbury Hospital is seeking a talented and dynamic Intake Counselor to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals!

Available Shift/s:

Full-Time shifts offer flexibility during the week with weekend coverage required. 10 or 12-hour shifts available, i.e., 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM or 8:00 PM - 6:30 AM

Part-Time: 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM, every other weekend required

Position Summary:

The Intake Counselor provides telephonic and in-person assessment and crisis intervention, initial contact with referral sources and potential patients, coordinates the referral and intake process.

Job Duties and Responsbilities:

• Determines the appropriate level of care
• Maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients

Must possess knowledge of dual diagnosis/chemical dependency/mental health patients; age-specific patient issues, limit setting and behavior management, crisis prevention and intervention techniques; knowledge and comprehension of regulatory agency standards (DOH, DPW, CMS, Joint Commission, etc.); staff development procedures and requirements; ability to communicate orally, telephonically, and in writing; working knowledge of computer systems and various software. Must possess good interpersonal skills and the ability to be a team player. Good documentation, organization and time management skills are necessary. Must be effective in decision-making and problem solving.

Located in Shippensburg, PA., our 112-bed behavioral health facility offers acute psychiatric, detoxification, and rehabilitation services for adults as well as, an adolescent inpatient psychiatric program for youth ages 13-17. We also have two substance use disorder outpatient offices in Carlisle and Chambersburg. Intake Counselor Job Requirements:

• Masters's degree in a psychology-related field is preferred. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college in Psychology or other related field required
