Job description
Concordia University Chicago (CUC) invites applications for the part-time (15-20 hours per week), staff position of IRB Reviewer. This position is fully remote and reports directly to the Director of Academic Research.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Performs a timely review of up to 50% of IRB applications and route them as required to Director of Academic Research
- Develops and provides feedback on IRB training and other instructional material
- Assists with implementation of IRB training and instruction
- Candidates must support and be committed to the mission and identity of Concordia University Chicago, a university of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS).
Skill Sets:
- Knowledge of federal HSR compliance policies and their applicability to student and faculty research
- Specific subject matter expertise (Education, Health Science, or Behavioral Science)
- Superior verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Enthusiastic supporter of Lutheran higher education and Concordia University Chicago
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Ability to provide regular and predictable response times while working remotely
- Proficiency with qualitative and/or quantitative research methods
- Proficiency in ethical reasoning and decision making
- Proficiency in writing and editing academic work
Minimum Experience Required:
- Familiarity with IRB policies and procedures, including records management software, and CITI is required. If not currently CITI certified, must complete certification prior to task assignment.
- Preferred experience includes status as current CUC adjunct with general subject matter expertise of IRB submissions (College of Education or College of Health Science and Technology, including Behavioral Science and Health & Human Performance) is preferred
Education Requirements:
- Master's degree required; PhD or terminal degree preferred
- Additional training/education in CITI and IRB required
Compensation and Benefits:
Starting range is dependent upon individual qualifications and experience. Concordia retirement plan enrollment is available to part-time employees. Tuition benefits may also be available.
