The Irrigation Technician is responsible for anticipating systemic irrigation issues. As a technician your duties are to provide solutions to our clients in a manner that is safe, efficient, and delivers a quality product to our customers. The technician is responsible for meeting all budgeted hours on contract services and the correct billing and tracking of labor and materials for all repair services.

Skill Set and Educational requirements

• Demonstrated ability to read landscape and irrigation blue print plans for comprehension and the implementation of pipes and valve placements
• Demonstrated ability in irrigation system management through knowledge in installation, equipment operation and basic small engine field repair and troubleshooting
• Demonstrated ability to read maps, give and follow clear directions
• Good communication skills (oral and written) particularly for conveying technical information
• Demonstrated positive approach towards customer service and co-workers
• Must have a high level of motivation, enthusiasm, be a self-starter and perform daily under pressure.
• Ability to work without direct supervision for extended periods of time
• Ability to work occasional weekends as necessary
• Irrigation Certification

Responsibility

• Ability to install irrigation systems
• Maintains familiarity with each irrigation job’s specifications and insures compliance
• Determines priorities and division of irrigation service work on a daily basis to ensure timely customer service while maximizing client route
• Ensures that all equipment and materials are available in sufficient quantity to complete the days tasks
• Manages equipment needs and sees that all equipment is properly maintained
• Communicates changes/adds with Irrigation Manager.
• Visits sites to evaluate quality of turf/beds and proper irrigation system maintenance
• Sells minor enhancements to existing irrigation systems
• Sells minor enhancements to existing lighting systems
• Anticipates and solves problems before they occur
• Responds quickly to problem areas
• Manages irrigation service packages for existing /new clients
• Informs clients of any schedule changes
• Responds to clients request in a timely fashion
• Must have the skills and knowledge in repairing irrigation systems
• Ability to provide irrigation repair plan
• Informs Irrigation Manager of repair requests
• Monitors irrigation materials in order to maintain efficient inventory levels
• Maintain company owned truck and trailer cleanliness

Equipment Operation Preferred Knowledge

• Identify and assemble different kinds of pipes, valves and sprinkling systems.
• Able to use tools such as rakes, shovels, tube and pipe cutters
• Ability to operate skid steer, mini excavator, ditch witch, trenchers, compact loader

Special Notes Licenses and Certifications

• A class “C” driver’s license is required during appointment to this job classification. The driver’s license must be maintained in good standing as per company insurance standards.
• Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years drivers experience

Salary: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
