Junior Solar PV Design Engineer

ACE Solar has been ranked the #1 Residential solar installer in MA for 6 years running. We're a local, family-owned business. Our team of close-knit, passionate individuals is seeking to add a motivated and organized a junior engineer to the team.

The Junior Engineer will design solar arrays and assist in other engineering tasks.

Responsibilities of Solar PV Design Engineer:

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create conceptual design layouts and electrical diagrams for residential and commercial scale solar arrays utilizing AutoCAD
• Create energy models for residential & commercial scale solar arrays with Helioscope and Aurora
• Interact with a variety of engineering disciplines including civil, geotechnical, structural, and electrical
• Perform site visits for project assessment and feasibility
• Support utility interconnection and permitting application processes
• Additional duties as assigned and/or directed
• This position reports to a Lead Design Engineer

QUALIFICATIONS

Key qualifications as follows:

• Degree in engineering or equivalent educational/certification background
• AutoCAD proficiency
• Helioscope and aurora software experience preferred
• MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software proficiency
• Knowledge of electrical principles and solar pv preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a team environment as well as work independently
• Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects and tasks
