Essential Functions Designs and plans experimental protocols. Independently conduct molecular, biochemical, histological, experiments. Independently design complex experiments and independently performs data analysis. Plan and perform experimental manipulations, including surgeries, injections, and tissue collection, on animals. Isolate and maintain cell cultures of primary murine and human cells. Will complete various techniques such as RNA and protein isolation from tissues and cells, qRT-PCR, Running SDS-PAGE and DNA gels, measurement of protein concentration using BCA, 660nm, ELISA and other assays, immunoprecipitation to pulldown specific proteins from samples, taking care of lab instruments and reagents, taking care of some mouse colonies (general maintenance). Assist in ordering and maintaining lab animals, supplies, equipment, and reagents. Keep track of budget. Keep equipment in proper working order and conduct necessary performance tests to ensure optimum performance.
Physical Effort This position will require standing for long periods of time and/or walking for extending periods (if resources need to be accessed at other University labs).
