National Grid is hiring for two Lead Engineering positions in its Grid of the Future department to be located in Northboro, Massachusetts and Waltham, Massachusetts.
What We Do
Working on the development and implementation of National Grid’s Active Resource Integration (ARI), which is an exciting new way for National Grid to increase visibility, control, and manage of renewable energy connected across the service territory. This role will be serving to support the development of that system and its implementation in Massachusetts.
The successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for delivering on the learnings and scaling the program to delivering customer benefits at additional locations throughout the Commonwealth.
(*Although this is a hybrid Massachusetts role, this position requires a few office or site visits weekly.)
What You'll Do
- Develop system to monitor and control National Grid and customer owned assets (such as solar PV facilities) through the DERMS platform, with the intent of system automation to dynamically adjust assets in response to changing system conditions.
- Support integration of DERMS into the distribution Control Center equipment and processes for effective DER operation.
- Develop strategically prioritized plan for implementation of DERMS platform products in a logical and efficient manner. And collaborate with stakeholders for implementation
- Challenge existing ways of working and continuously seek ways to do things better in order to drive greater efficiencies within assigned area.
Interpersonal- Experience Required
- Able to proactively collaborate amongst team members to achieve business objectives.
- Proactively build and maintain internal and external networks in order to penetrate, absorb, and apply best practices.
About You
- Engineering Bachelor's Degree required with minimum 4+ years' relevant and progressive experience
- Strong project management, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Effective collaboration and partnership capabilities
- Background in utility industry preferred
- Past experience with DERMS and/or utility scale controls/communications preferred
Your Rewards
Salary: $132,000 - $155,000
