Subject to availability of funds and actual staffing requirements. Duties and Responsibilities: In accordance with accreditation standards of the 2018 Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE®) A.2.3 and A.6.2:Teach courses in the assigned subject area;Prepare course syllabus and reports related to teaching and student progress;Contribute to updates and revision to the Program’s curriculum design to ensure appropriate content delivery;Assess student learning in terms of course competencies and program learning outcomes;Submit self-assessment reports based on student and peer evaluations;Work under the general supervision of the discipline coordinator/division chairperson in integrating teaching efforts with other instructors in the discipline area;Maintain one office hour per week for each class taught (20 minutes per credit per week); Contribute to academic advising of students each semester;Classes may be offered online, evenings and/or weekends;Instructor who teaches two or more courses must develop and annually update a current written professional growth and development plan that outline: Goals to enhance abilities to fulfill designated responsibilities (e.g., goals related to areas of teaching responsibility, teaching effectiveness, scholarly activities, etc.);Evidence of currency in the areas of teaching responsibilities;Specific measurable action steps with expected timelines by which the faculty member will achieve the goals;Identification of ways in which the faculty member’s professional development plan will contribute to attaining the program’s strategic goals.Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy (OT)* , 3 years of experience in field work supervision or 3 years of experience in teaching, curriculum development & administration in an accredited OT or OTA program; and Current OT or OTA Hawai‘i State licensure.NOTE: The master's degree is not limited to a master's degree in occupational therapy. * A master's degree or a baccalaureate degree that was awarded prior to July 1, 2015, from an institution that was not regionally or nationally accredited, is considered acceptable to meet this standard; for degrees from institutions in countries other than the United States, ACOTE® will determine an alternative and equivalent external review process. Desirable Qualifications: Work experience related to course to be taught.Experience working with occupational therapy assistants and/or occupational therapy assistant students.Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively.Familiarity with competency- and outcomes-based instruction.
