Overview:
LMI seeks a management analyst to support a federal program management office in the National Capital Region. Join our team of collaborative self-starters focused on delivering practical and efficient solutions to help our client keep U.S. borders safe and facilitate trade and travel. As part of our high-performing team, you will augment our vital work to provide “eyes and ears” technology to protect our nation. This position requires the ability to pass a government background investigation, including financial, criminal, residential, educational, foreign affiliation, prohibited substance use, and employment verifications; active U.S. Customs and Border Protection background investigation preferred. Please note that only U.S. citizens are eligible for a suitability determination.
Responsibilities:

You will provide management support to client’s portfolio and program managers for projects that acquire and maintain technology, including communications, sensor, and surveillance systems and the related infrastructure. You will compile management information from the component projects including scope, cost, schedule, performance, and quality to provide visibility into deployment progress. Representative responsibilities:

  • Manage and report on cost, schedule, quality, and performance goals
  • Coordinate and respond to data calls and set priorities, and compile portfolio and program information
  • Coordinate portfolio and project status reviews
  • Monitor status of deliverables
  • Develop artifacts that enable PMOD to respond to internal and external inquiries
  • Manage the action item database to resolution, and monitor risk management activities
  • Coordinate budget tracking in accordance with the Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Accountability (PPBA) process
  • Work with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and Working Groups to develop and maintain program and project plans and charters
  • Support development, execution, and management of Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Memorandum of Agreement/Understanding (MOA/MOU), and Inter-Agency Agreements (IAAs)
  • Develop responses to internal and external inquiries
Qualifications:
  • Ability to pass a government background investigation, including financial, criminal, residential, educational, foreign affiliation, prohibited substance use, and employment verifications; active U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) background investigation (BI) preferred. Please note that only U.S. citizens are eligible for a suitability determination.
  • Previous work with CBP and/or U.S. Border Patrol program management is a plus.
  • 3 to 10 years of experience and a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, management, engineering, finance, or information management preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively solve problems.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • A true team player who maintains a positive attitude in a dynamic environment.
  • Prior experience in project management support preferred.
  • Experience with the DHS acquisition life cycle framework (ALF) and systems engineering life cycle (SELC) management processes and the CBP PPBA process is desired.
