IDG Advertising is a rapidly-growing, award-winning ad agency that's been creating beautiful campaigns for our clients for over 25 years. We're looking for someone with the ability to effectively research and write about any subject matter across any industry. Our agency services a very wide variety of clients, from international conglomerates to local service providers. We are looking for:
A copywriter that can create engaging SEO blogs, content for marketing pieces, and website copy. These different media are posted on client websites, social feeds, and marketing material, so it’s vital that you can write in multiple styles.
Successful candidates must be eager to work hard, learn everything they can, and work in a close-knit team environment. You will be paid by word, range is 5 - 10c per word DOE.
Responsibilities:
- Research, source, and write SEO content and marketing copy.
- Write approximately 5 deliverables per day (typically about 500 words per piece).
- Perform basic competitive analyses - know what others do well, what they don’t do well, and develop strategies on what we need to do to outperform them.
- Create meaningful and impactful campaigns based on research and data. This also means adjusting existing campaigns based on facts and data and continuously optimizing content strategy.
- Revise written material to meet personal standards and to satisfy the needs of clients, editor, and upper management.
- Edit or rewrite existing written material as necessary and submit written material for approval by the editor.
- Write to customers on their level in a voice appropriate for the respective client.
Skills:
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Impeccable spelling and grammar with the ability to adapt to a variety of different tones.
- Proactive self-starter with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to understand and implement brand voice for each unique client.
- Ability to listen to and implement constructive criticism as needed to improve copy.
- Strong understanding of Associated Press writing style is a plus.
- Social media engagement and/or content creation experience is a plus.
Qualifications:
- Previous writing experience, either through regular employment, internship or student-run media.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Works well in a team setting. Highly organized & dependable.
- Good technical understanding and the ability to pick up new tools quickly.
- Knowledge of social media platforms and tools.
- Knowledge of publishing platforms such as WordPress is a plus.

Please submit two writing samples - one with a formal tone and one with an informal tone.
- This is a 100 percent remote position - copywriters are free to work on deliverables at any time, but may require occasional availability during IDG's regular hours (9 am - 5:30 pm PST/PDT).
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $34,332.59 - $88,179.73 per year
