Position Summary
The Supervisor, Material Coordination manages the day-to-day movement of material throughout the JetBlue supply organization in support of planned maintenance as well as ensuring the timely fulfillment of allocations throughout the supply chain. The Supervisor also is responsible for ensuring the timely distribution of material related to deferred maintenance items (Minimum Equipment Lists (MELs), Nonessential Equipment and Furnishings (NEF), General Maintenance Manual (GMM), etc.), as well as findings during aircraft heavy maintenance visits, shop service orders, engineering driven reliability improvements/upgrades, support of Service Bulletins (SBs), Airworthiness Directives (ADs) and Engineering Controls (ECs). In addition, the Supervisor also manages JetBlue’s logistics providers and ensures that they are operating within contracted terms.
Essential Responsibilities
- Supervision of all day-to-day movements of material in relation to planned maintenance, Maintenance Defect Deferral Reports (MDDRs), and material station component allocations.
- Review and management of logistics providers and periodic contract review to ensure terms are up to date and executed.
- Review and approval of invoices in InvoiceWorks and Trax based invoicing systems and coordination with Accounts Payable to ensure terms are met.
- Coordination of all out of scope material requirements in support of JetBlue’s heavy maintenance providers to ensure timely release of aircraft from check.
- Material support of shop service orders in support of Maintenance organization and to ensure proper stock availability.
- Coordination of all material requirements related to Engineering driven reliability upgrades, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) mandated Airworthiness Directives, and other Engineering driven demands.
- Supervision and mentoring of a group of Material Coordinators.
- Interaction and coordination with Material Planning group on scheduled work movements in order to ensure proper inventory levels throughout the system.
- Ensuring departmental compliance with internal audit guidelines as well as all Federal Aviation Regulations and Sarbanes Oxley 404 requirements.
- Take a significant role in the development of crewmembers to support their engagement, growth and goal achievement
- All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Experience and Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
- Three (3) years’ experience in a Supply Chain or Logistics leadership role
- Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge
- Depending upon location, may need to possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a driving record that meets JetBlue Airways’ insurance standards
- Must be in possession of valid travel documents with the ability to travel in and out of the United States
- Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
- Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
- Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
- Pass a pre-employment drug test
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Aviation Supply Chain experience
- Valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Certificate
- Data analytics and dashboarding for operational metrics

- Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
- Able to maintain a professional appearance
- When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

- Upholding JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understanding how they relate to their duties and responsibilities

Work Environment:
- Traditional office environment with occasional travel to the various warehouses
- Aircraft noise and inclement weather may be encountered
Physical Effort:
- Light physical effort required by handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently. (Light)
Compensation:
- The base pay range for this position is between $64,00 and $103,100 per year.
