CIMA is currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a leader in their industry, seeking a highly skilled and proficient Mechanical Surveyor to join their team. In this role, you will assess customer equipment and facilities to ensure compliance with industry standards and requirements. Must be willing to be On-Site in the Detroit Metro area or willing to relocate for a Full Time Position.

SUMMARY:

Conduct comprehensive surveys of customer equipment to identify requirements, create detailed diagrams illustrating specifications for various types of equipment, collaborate with the graphics department and production team to develop accurate placards and tags, ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards, such as OSHA guidelines. Travel to customer locations up to 50% of the time

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Technical knowledge and/or experience in mechanical engineering, industrial maintenance, or a related field

• Familiarity with safety regulations and standards

• Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and facility operations

• Knowledge of the seven primary energy sources

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities

• Experience with piping systems (e.g., water, steam, chemical) is highly desirable

• Background in electrical systems and equipment is essential

• Prior experience as a machine tool or automation builder is a plus

• Excellent documentation and communication skills

• Attention to detail and thoroughness in inspections

• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel

NICE TO HAVE:

· Lockout Tagout (LOTO) experience is a plus
