Summary
The
Merchandising Operations Support is a liaise between customers and suppliers daily to arrange freight collection, sort out any problems and ensure that bookings do not exceed allocations.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Essential functions
- Enters Sale and Purchase contracts for US and Canadian customers and
- Documents collection and invoicing.
- Processes payables to vendors.
- Backups and assists other Merchandising and Trading Coordinator employees when needed.
- Processes documentation for domestic trade.
- Acts as liaison with operations and IT to identify and correct errors in the computer system.
- Problem-solves transportation issues and communicates as necessary with the sales team, customer service reps, and others as appropriate.
- Recommends, develops, and implements value-added process improvements.
- Enters Purchase release, work closely with Operations to assure packaging plants have product.
- Process all Operations miscellaneous payables.
- Process all import traffic contracts, to ensure timely payments.

WHAT WE NEED
Required education and experience.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
- Two to three (2-3) years’ experience relevant to Trade Coordination shipping or logistics preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Ability
- Strong knowledge of domestic and international shipping laws.
- Intermediate proficient in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access.
- High-level attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as discounts, cwt's, and percentages.
- Must be able to work well in a self-managed team environment comfortably interacting with all levels of the business and customers to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to establish relationships with suppliers and customers.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentialit
Working environment and physical demands
- The physical environment requires the use of general office equipment (computer, printer, scanner).
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Required to use personal protective equipment as needed.
