Mid- Level Software Engineer (Remote Eligible)

Position Summary

Clayton Homes/Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance is looking for a Software Engineer II to join a Scrum team of experienced Software Engineers in the modernization and support of applications that support our finance division. As a Software Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work in an Agile/Scrum environment and will have exposure to a variety of technologies that Clayton is adopting/integrating including .Net (C#), AWS, Oracle ERP Cloud and much more!

About the Team

VMF Express Portal is the Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance customer portal for originating and maintaining loans. The team recently completed work implementing a new e-Disclosure feature to speed up the origination process and are now focused on a multi-phase project to implement text notifications for customers. We are also looking to implement paperless privacy notices to reduce mailing costs and adding a “pizza tracker” to the Express Portal to provide customers with constant updates on mortgage claims. In addition, we are preparing to port the Express Portal from the existing, home-grown system to a new off-the-shelf product. It is being actively development with 80% of the work towards new features and 20% for business as usual and technical updates. We follow Domain Driven Design principles and primarily focus new development in microservices.

Responsibilities:

• Software application design and development using Microsoft Technologies, AWS Cloud development and JavaScript frameworks
• Collaborate with other software developers, architects, business analysts, product owners, operations engineers, security, business representatives, etc.
• Document development requirements for database, applications, and operation system environments
• Build constructive and effective relationships with business stakeholders and technology teams
• Provide consultation on complex projects as a contributor/specialist

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent technica l experience in web application development
• 3+ years recent experience developing web applications across multiple frameworks and technologies
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and the ability to interact with a diverse group of team members, including managers, technology professionals, and subject matter experts
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Humble, hungry, and smart self-starter that can work effectively within time constraints and changing priorities
• Experience using Scrum/Agile methodologies
• Demonstrates proficiency in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
• Enjoys working with people and using technology to solve business problems

Preferred Skills:

• Microsoft C#, .Net Core, Web API
• Microsoft SQL Server
• Applied experience with Angular and the Angular ecosystem
• Experience with AWS
• Experience with Postman API testing
• Experience with Git for source control
