Position: Nutrition Services Manager

Reports To: Julie Calderone

Schedule: Full Time Days, Occasional Weekends

Position Location/Department: Dietary

Job Summary: Accountable for assisting with food service management. Ensures high quality food and service and excellent associate development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Purchase food and supplies and ensure that they are received, stored, issued and utilized in an efficient and manner.
• Collect code and process all required invoices, statements, inventories and paperwork for facility and corporate office billing, payroll and financial requirements.
• Maintain standards for the safe and sanitary operation of the department.
• Direct associate work routines and schedules.
• Speak, listen and write in a clear, positive and professional manner using interpersonal skills, good judgment and empathy.
• Delegate as appropriate to ensure that job duties are complete.
• Develop and nurture a professional working relationship with client, peers and other facility staff.
• Enforce patient/resident rights and confidentiality.
• Dedicate time to participate on facility committees, as directed.
• Collect data and respond to performance improvement opp01iunities for continuous quality improvement.
• Comprehend and execute requirements addressing basic menu concepts, modified diets, recipe development and production requirements.
• Manage the flow of information and communication from other departments, patients/residents/family and staff.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Schedule Nutrition service employee on a weekly basis.

Education, Experience and Other Requirements:

• Checking hospital email at least once per work day since primary source of communication
• High School Diploma
• Dietary Manager Certification
• Food Safety & Allergy Training Classes

Physical Requirements:

• Able to screen all IP within 24 hours from admission, including Occasional weekends & holidays.
• Able to sit in meetings.
• Exposed to patient/resident elements.
• Requires physical, mental and emotional strength, manual dexterity and mobility.
