Job description

The Occupancy Specialist assists in the administration and maintenance of tenant files according to agency regulation and provides back-up secretarial functions for Blaine Apartments.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Schedules and completes all recertifications for residents on both an annual and interim basis as required by the NJHMFA and/or HUD;
• Maintains the residents’ files in the appropriate condition as stipulated by both Management and the NJHMFA.
• Prepares all documentation for TRACS to the NJHMFA and HUD;
• Maintains the community waiting list and assures that all units are occupied with the least amount of down time;
• Assists Management with operations as it may relate to tenant meetings, concerns, or open houses;
• Receives requests for in-house apartment repairs and completes required work orders in Yardi;
• Maintains effective working relationships with associates, tenants, and the public.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Excellent written and oral communication
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Able to attend meetings as scheduled for both occupancy regulations and changes as they affect the property.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Working knowledge of the NJHMFA and HUD regulations
• Knowledge of YARDI or similar property management software
• Proficient in Microsoft Office

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
