Job Summary:
Coordinates activities related to box office and front of house operations, production support, and special event planning. Ensures superior customer service at all points of patron contact and works closely with Visual & Performing Arts team members to contribute to meeting revenue goals. Manages, assigns, reviews, and participates in the work of the box office staff.
Essential Functions:
1. Manages box office and online ticket operations, including event management in ticketing systems, special ticket request fulfillment, and generation of reports and lists.2. Trains, schedules, and supports the Box Office staff; works box office shifts as needed; serves as first point of escalation for patron requests and concerns; manages payroll for Box Office staff.3. Serves as a member of the day-of-show management team, providing support for Box Office, Front of House, and artist assistance activities; serves as Front of House or Back of House manager as needed.4. Oversees direct, pre-sales, and group sales with regard to the handling of money or processing of credit card payments.5. Manages, updates, and ensure the functionality of The Mendel Center website.6. Recommends and implements policies and procedures that support high levels of patron service and operational efficiency.7. Processes vendor payables and related documentation.8. Creates and distributes weekly, monthly, and other periodic reports on business and accounting system compliance, aging reports, sales, rentals, and other revenue-generating activities.9. Works closely with the Mendel Center Operations Manager to assist with membership cultivation, fundraising development, group sales management and other responsibilities as needed.10. Tracks and maintains inventory of concessions and box office supplies.11. Plans, coordinates, and staffs Mendel Center presence at trade shows and special events.12. Participates in the recruitment, training, management, and scheduling of the 100+ member Mainstage volunteer corps for events and projects; serves as a volunteer database administrator.

Accountabilities:
Under the general supervision of the Mendel Center Operations Manager, the Box Office Coordinator is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and support to patrons, donors, clients, visiting artists, and sponsors. Through the oversight of the Box Office and participation in venue rentals, fundraising, group sales, and advertising sales, the Box Office Coordinator supports revenue generation for the department.
Job Specifications:
Associates degree required. One to three years of experience in a retail, hospitality, or customer service field required. Event management, performing arts management, or group sales/fundraising experience, preferred. Requires strong customer services skills, attention to detail, written, verbal, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Proficient in MS Office Suite. Work is fast paced, with multiplicity of details and requires a flexible daily and weekly schedule. Must be available to work variable schedule, including extended work days, evenings, and weekends.
