JOB SUMMARY
In 2021 Medical Center launched the “Health Equity Accelerator” with the purpose of ‘transforming healthcare to deliver health justice and well being’. The Accelerator is developing an innovative multi-disciplinary approach that combines clinical operations, community engagement, SDoH programs, and research assets to address racial health inequities.
As part of this work, we’re building a team that will promote and support access to cancer screenings. The Program Director will work in partnership with the leadership of Population Health, the Health Equity Accelerator as well as quality/operational leaders to co-develop and implement a centralized cancer screening team at Medical Center. The vision of this team is to provide outreach, clinical counseling and navigational resources to ensure provision of preventive cancer screening to all eligible patients. The program will staff a team of patient navigators that will conduct outreach to eligible patients, and support the navigation of scheduling and referrals to cancer screening and specialty services as needed. In addition, the team will lead necessary data architecture work to implement innovations such as a patient registry to support and improve the work of all departments.
The Cancer Equity Program Director will work with a multi-disciplinary team to design this program including workflows, staffing, and governance structure. Then, then they will serve the role of both administrative lead for the program organizing and supervising the operational work of the team, and working closely with clinical governance, acting as liaison with all the relevant departments and continuing to refine the design of the program as it grows. Clinical experience is welcome but not required. Operational experience required, with a preference for deeper expertise in change management.

- Must have demonstrated ability to lead the design of the Equity in Cancer team in partnership with a multidisciplinary group of leaders from Quality Improvement, Operations, and relevant clinical departments. Design activities will include workflows, staffing, and governance structure.
- Be able to analyze current departmental operations to evaluate current state of cancer screening at BMC and identify strengths and weaknesses in relation to operational effectiveness. Develops strategies and plans for new program development.
- Will prepare, justify and present strategic plans, business cases and budgets; while measuring and reporting the impact of different strategies and programs.
- Bachelors Degree Required
- Minimum of 3 years of management experience and 5-7 years of experience in a healthcare related field required.
