Position Description:
GENERAL SUMMARY
Reporting to the Manager-Group Practice, the Outreach Coordinator is responsible for developing relationships to create patient acquisition opportunities. The Outreach Coordinator will network and build relationships with key businesses, agencies, and healthcare organizations within Jefferson County, AL and the City of Birmingham, AL. Further, this role is responsible for engaging with prospective patients, introducing Cooper Green Mercy Health Services at community events, and educating the community on the services offered at the facility.
The ideal candidate for this role would be a self-starter with a positive attitude that enjoys a challenge. The Outreach Coordinator is expected to represent Cooper Green at public events (at both indoor or outdoor venues; can be scheduled during the week or on the weekend) in the community and does not shy away from public speaking, connecting with and influencing others, or negotiating.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, implement, and execute an effective strategy to achieve patient acquisition targets.
- Partner with facility leadership to set quarterly target goals.
- Develop, maintain, and grow a rigorous pipeline to forecast and report on patient acquisition progress
- Deliver highest level of customer service to prospects, patients, and community partners
- Generate enrollment interest by prospecting, building, and maintaining relationships throughout the community
- Nurture prospective patients and prospect for new patients with an ambitious mentality via email, phone, and networking
- Strategic marketing: create both short term and long term action and strategy plans (including but not limited to quarterly and biannual plans) to acquire patients, with the potential to present to large audiences.
- Prospect, engage and create new trusting relationships with local businesses, at multiple levels, including but not limited to agencies, churches, and other business leaders, that will drive patient growth opportunities.
- Create collaborative partnerships and manage community and business partners to gain a deep understanding of patient acquisition challenges and generate potential resolutions to overcoming those challenges.
- Provide monthly reports to senior leaders that details opportunities, successes and challenges to patient acquisition.
- Partner with the Enrollment Department leadership to ensure potential new patients are being enrolled and established in an expeditious fashion.
- Develop policies that will provide the necessary guidelines and protocols to patient prospecting; presenting to potential community partners; and relationship development with the goal of developing new opportunities for patient acquisition.
- Gather information from community leaders, business partners, and prospective patients on new services the facility could explore that would increase enrollment interest.
- Gather information on current barriers to enrolling and present solution-based information to facility leadership to eliminate those barriers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Required: Bachelor’s degree. Preferred majors: Communications, Marketing, Public Administration, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of sales, marketing, relationship management, or related experience preferred.
- Healthcare industry knowledge and experience strongly preferred.
- Access to reliable personal transportation with a valid driver's license and auto insurance required
- Soft skills: negotiation experience; dynamic and ambitious self-starter; team player and contributor; professional; ability to make sound judgment in ambiguous situations; excellent public speaking skills; positive attitude; takes ownership and delivers results; driven to create an unmatched patient experience.
- Technical knowledge: Microsoft Office Suite, including but not limited to Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- May need to lift: 11-20 lbs regularly; 40-50 lbs on occasion; and 51+lbs with a colleague or team.
