FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Salary Grade: Hourly
Calendar: Part-Time; 180 day calendar

POSITION SUMMARY (Primary purpose of job)
Parent Educators make personal visits to families to assist families with community resources, early childhood development, and early detection of developmental delays.
SPHERE AND SCOPE OF INFLUENCE (Supervisory scope, district impact and budgetary responsibility)
Parent Educators provide the first impression of the District to families served. This position is essential in influencing the District mission and vision.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES (Major duties which the position exists to perform)
- Perform personal visits to families in their home to provide resources and developmental information.
- Build and maintains secure relationships with students as well as maintaining professional relationships with colleagues, parents, and patrons.
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with timelines including individual student records, screening records, content area reports, and building/department records as needed and/or assigned.
- Actively engage as a member of team including but not limited to, student teams, grade level or department teams, focus groups, Building and/or District teams.
- Report suspected abuse, neglect, discrimination, harassment, etc. as directed by Board Policy and otherwise required by law.
- Other duties as directed by the supervisor.
- Regular and reliable attendance as it relates to the scope of the position.
OTHER DUTIES (duties which the incumbent can be expected to perform)
- Additional duties necessary to supervise students, monitor events, or assist in an emergency situation.
- Attend building events such as open houses, curriculum night, informational meetings, and events designed to bring the public into the District.
- Occasional or sporadic duties such as taking tickets at an event, participating on an interview committee, covering a duty of a colleague, etc.
- Participate in professional development activities and/or work outside of the typical school work day and/or school calendar.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise students at all times and/or as directed by supervisor
Supervise events as described above and/or directed by supervisor
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS (Minimum educational requirements, licenses, skills and experience required as well as preferred options)
Parents as Teachers National Certification
Minimum of 60 college hours
Minimum of two years experience working with young children
Early Childhood certification such as Early Childhood Special Education, Elementary Education, and/or five years experience in pre-school setting preferred.

PHYSICAL RELATED REQUIREMENTS
The candidate should be able to move in and around the classroom, building, District buildings, and campus locations. The candidate may be required to lift up to 50lbs. and maintain consistent attendance in accordance with the attendance policy unless otherwise required by law. General functioning such as the ability to maintain confidentiality, communicate clearly both orally and in writing, utilize District resources including District issued technology and meeting multiple demands from people while interacting with students, staff, and the public are required to fulfill the essential job duties.
